Water supply to Philly Water supply hits record high after storm

A record number of people are relying on Philadelphia Water to supply their water needs, according to a report released Wednesday.

The average number of customers relying on the supply in December was 7.3 percent of the city’s population, the city said in its latest report on its water supply.

The report also found that the number of residents using Philadelphia Water dropped from 6,091 to 6,006, or about 7 percent.

That’s down from 9,569 in December.

The city’s water supply was rated as excellent in September and September alone, according the report.

The report is the latest update of the Department of Public Works’ annual water consumption report.
